Message from the Principal:It is a great pleasure for me
to welcome you to Lowell Junior High School on behalf of the faculty
and support staff. Lowell is a school with a tradition of service to
its students, parents/guardians, and community stakeholders, and we
hold high expectations for all our students in both the areas of
academics and behavior. Attending Lowell is an excellent way to
round-out a child’s middle grade experience as we expect students to
set and achieve not only academic goals but personal, co-curricular/athletic,
and community responsibility goals. We have built into our master schedule
math, reading, and writing interventions to help students to not only
succeed in these areas but to excel. The faculty at Lowell is outstanding
as it is a nice blend of master teachers with years of experience and
pedagogical knowledge, and bright, young new teachers with up-to-the-minute
ideas. Our professional educators care about the students they are entrusted
with and Lowell is a supportive community on all fronts. My role as the
principal is one of service, support, and advocacy. I value the voices of
all stakeholders and encourage their participation in their school.
It is our belief that a student’s middle grades experience
strongly impacts the odds of graduation from high school, and
that if we are to achieve the nation’s goal of graduating all
high school students ready for college and a career, that students
must enter high school with grade level or higher skills and
knowledge. Students’ middle grades experiences are critical in
launching them toward achievement and attainment of the only
secure path to adult success – finishing high school. Lowell
Junior High is instrumental in the acquisition of this path for
the students that enter its doors.
